Stretching Benefits and Precautions
Learn about the benefits of stretching and important precautions to take. Stretching helps relax muscles, improve flexibility, prevent injuries, and enhance circulation.
Let me tell you about the benefits and precautions of stretching!
In hot and tiring weather like today,
it's important to loosen up your body
with stretches throughout the day!
You also know that stretching before exercise
is essential, right?
Today, I'll tell you about the benefits and precautions
of stretching!
Benefits of Stretching
1. Relieves muscle tension, making the body relaxed and supple.
2. Allows for freer human activity, enabling multiple movements to be performed simultaneously.
3. Increases joint range of motion, improving exercise performance.
4. Prevents muscle and joint injuries.
5. Develops body awareness.
6. Promotes body circulation.
Precautions when stretching
1. Relax your muscles
Warm up your body with a light jog before stretching.
Stretching is an exercise that aims to lengthen muscles as much as possible,
so if you suddenly apply stimulation to muscles that are not sufficiently relaxed,
it can cause strain and damage to joints.
2. Go slowly without bouncing
While there are methods of dynamic stretching,
general stretching does not involve bouncing.
Bouncing can cause severe muscle rigidity and increase the risk of ligament damage to joints,
so it's best to avoid bouncing unless there's a specific purpose.
3. Maintain appropriate stimulation
To improve flexibility,
you should stretch beyond your current level,
but it should not be painful.
However, a slight feeling of discomfort is not a problem,
so it's good to maintain appropriate stimulation, right?!
4. Don't compete with others
Comparison or competition with others during exercise
can sometimes have positive effects.
However, comparing yourself to others with different exercise abilities
can lead to excessive postures or attitudes,
so it's best to stretch at your own pace.
5. Stretch daily if possible
Like other exercises, stretching is ideally performed daily.
If that's not possible,
it's good to perform it at least 3-4 days a week,
and whenever you have time, do it anywhere!
