Nasal Foreign Body Removal

Nasal foreign body removal can be performed using either an incision method or a non-incision method, depending on the type of foreign body, the cause of the side effects, and the symptoms.

Incision Method

Nasal foreign body removal surgery using the incision method must be performed after accurately identifying the location of the foreign body with ultrasound.

Dr. Kim Jong-myung said, ‘It is advisable to proceed with minimal incisions to minimize damage and deformation to surrounding tissues.’

Non-Incision Method

For non-incision nasal foreign body removal, it is also crucial to accurately identify the foreign body area using ultrasound.

After confirming the foreign body with ultrasound and accurately assessing the extent of the side effects, the procedure should be carried out in a way that minimizes damage to normal tissues.

Methods that dissolve foreign bodies using lasers or injections can also be added, offering the advantage of less tissue damage and fewer scars compared to the incision method.
