KBS 2TV In the summer special of 'Vitamin', titled 'Scary Vitamin: A Frightening Disease That Suddenly Appears',

Dr. Kim Jong-myung of Diva Plastic Surgery, well-known as singer Kim Jong-kook's brother, appeared as a panelist and emphasized the side effects of fillers.

On the 5th, Dr. Kim Jong-myung appeared on KBS 2TV and stated, ‘The number of people receiving filler procedures has increased by about 2 to 3 times compared to five years ago.’

He added, ‘Many patients seek these procedures because they are convenient and offer immediate results for areas like the nose, eyes, chin, cheeks, and under-eyes.’

However, as filler procedures have become more common, their side effects have also become a significant social issue.

This includes indiscriminate and inappropriate filler procedures performed in informal settings, often referred to as ‘underground’ or ‘back-alley’ treatments.

The program highlighted a case of a 58-year-old female patient who received an unregulated procedure at a local gathering and developed necrosis two days later, raising serious concerns.

Fortunately, this patient was able to preserve her nose after tissue removal surgery following the necrosis.

However, the problem is that the number of patients suffering from side effects due to such improper filler procedures is steadily increasing.

This is because more patients believe that since it's a simple procedure, it doesn't necessarily have to be done at a hospital.

Another reason why unregulated procedures are dangerous is the high probability of using unapproved fillers.

If paraffin or liquid silicone is used instead of proper fillers,

even if there are no immediate problems, cosmetic issues such as sagging or deformation can occur later,

and over time, it can even develop into skin cancer.

Although very rare, cases of blindness after filler injections in the eye area

and even brain problems have been reported,

so it is crucial to carefully observe for any swelling more severe than initially, or any signs of inflammation,

and in severe cases, to visit a hospital immediately.

Dr. Kim Jong-myung of Diva Plastic Surgery stated, ‘It is important to carefully check for redness or pain in the injected area for one to two days after the procedure, rather than immediately after.’

He added, ‘It is crucial to receive thorough consultation from a specialist regarding whether the filler product is approved and if there are any potential side effects.’

Meanwhile, Dr. Kim Jong-myung of Diva Plastic Surgery was chosen to appear on 'Vitamin' due to his extensive experience with filler procedures,

and Diva Plastic Surgery is known for its specialized filler treatments such as ‘Sculpted Nose Filler’ and ‘Radiant Volume Filler’.
