Hello. This is Diva Plastic Surgery :)
Since everyone makes eye contact during conversations,
the impact of the eyes on human relationships is incredibly significant.
The eyes, which serve both functional and aesthetic roles,
gradually show signs of aging as time passes.
Wrinkles around the eyes and dark circles caused by sagging eyelid skin and drooping under-eye fat are
primary causes of looking older. Therefore, it is beneficial to improve sagging skin through lower blepharoplasty.
Let's explore the different types of lower blepharoplasty.

Lower blepharoplasty includes under-eye fat removal and repositioning.
These methods can improve cases where under-eye fat makes one look grumpy,
where sagging under-eye skin causes many wrinkles and makes one look older,
or where sagging skin creates shadows, making dark circles appear darker.

As we age, skin weakens due to the aging process,
leading to sagging. The skin around the eyes, in particular,
has thinner tissue compared to other skin, which can cause under-eye fat to sag and bulge.
Accumulated fat under the eyes can make the face look tired
or give the impression of a grumpy person.

Some people confuse ‘aegyo-sal’ (under-eye fat rolls) with under-eye fat.
‘Aegyo-sal’ is the plumpness directly below the pupil, while the protrusion below that is under-eye fat.
Through lower blepharoplasty for under-eye fat removal, if the ‘aegyo-sal’ is preserved
and the protruding under-eye fat is removed, one can expect a change to a more youthful eye appearance.

The second type of lower blepharoplasty is under-eye fat repositioning.
Depending on the patient's condition, under-eye fat removal and repositioning may be performed together.
Repositioning involves filling in sunken areas under the eyes to add volume
and smoothing out bulging areas. This method can improve uneven under-eye areas,
making them flat and smooth.

Both under-eye fat removal and repositioning are performed by incising the inner conjunctiva of the eye,
not the outer skin. This minimizes post-operative scarring and has the advantage of being invisible externally.
Furthermore, our clinic performs lower blepharoplasty with SHIELD protection for eye safety,
making the procedure even safer.
